Abstract

As an integral component of the visual system of Chinese culture, traditional Chinese colors embody rich cultural connotations and aesthetic values. With the continuous optimization of urban cultural communication methods, how to effectively apply traditional colors to contemporary urban cultural information visualization has become an important issue in design practice. Taking Yantai’s urban culture as the research object, this study systematically reviews the traditional Chinese color system and, in combination with regional cultural characteristics, extracts and reconstructs color elements from representative traditional cultural content of Yantai, applying them to urban cultural information visualization design. Through design practice, this paper explores the application approaches of traditional Chinese colors in urban cultural information expression, providing new perspectives and methods for the contemporary application of traditional colors and the visual communication of urban culture.
