Abstract

In the context of rapid urbanization, many historic blocks have been painted in bright modern colors, new shop signs have obscured traditional doors and windows, and residents have been forced to destroy existing facades in order to improve lighting, these designs are difficult to protect precious historical memory, but also difficult to meet the needs of modern life. Therefore, this paper discusses how to enhance the vitality of the block under the premise of inheriting the traditional color, focusing on the case of Jiayi Street in Changsha to explore how to make the old buildings retain the classic charm, it can also adapt to the new method of store management and comfortable life of residents, aiming to provide a feasible solution for the historical district that is stuck in protection.
