As a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage of Shandong Province, Jiaodong Huabobo embodies profound folk aesthetic wisdom in its color application. The "shengchong" design is widely used in folk customs such as full moon celebrations, weddings, festivals, and beam-raising ceremonies. This article explores the color aesthetic characteristics of Jiaodong "sacred insect" Huabobo from the perspective of intangible cultural heritage. Its core colors, such as red, yellow, and green, carry cultural symbolic connotations of blessing, celebration, and harvest; the color matching follows the logic of "contrast and complementarity, harmony and unity"; and the color selection is deeply rooted in Jiaodong's regional agricultural production, marine fisheries, and folk belief systems. The research can provide support for the living inheritance of intangible cultural heritage and the study of folk aesthetics.
