Strategies for Optimizing Primary School Art Color Instruction Based on Real-Life Contexts: A Case Study of “Warm and Cool Colors”

Abstract

Color instruction in primary school art education has long been hindered by overly abstract explanations, making it difficult for students to transfer color knowledge to real-world contexts. To address this issue, this article focuses on optimizing color teaching through real-life contexts, using the concept of “warm and cool colors” as a focal point. It establishes a learnercentered orientation, proposes practical strategies, and develops an operational framework encompassing resource exploration, experiential activity design, and creative practice. The study aims to support students in actively applying warm–cool color knowledge in daily life, assist teachers in constructing a replicable instructional model for color education, and enhance both emotional engagement and creative expression in the classroom.
