Under the background of the rural revitalization strategy, rural landscape design has become the core carrier for enhancing the ecological quality, cultural connotation and sense of happiness in rural life. Plants, as the core constituent elements of rural landscapes, their color and morphological characteristics directly affect the visual effect, ecological function and regional recognition of the landscape. Based on this, this paper systematically explores the emotional expression and matching rules of plant colors, as well as the spatial shaping function of plant forms. Combining the principles of plant colors and forms in rural landscape design, taking Dayuwan Village in Wuhan, Hubei Province as an example, it proposes a plant application strategy that meets the design requirements of different rural scenarios and conforms to "ecological adaptation - cultural response - functional coordination". To achieve the unity of "naturalness, practicality and cultural nature" in rural landscapes, and provide theoretical references and practical paths for the upgrading of rural landscapes.
