Changes in the automotive industry, the advent of new energy vehicles has caused an unprecedented change in vehicles’ engines and layout, and it has also severely changed automotive design’s existing logic and aesthetic. And as a core element of CMF, color has evolved past its role in bringing beauty; its function now includes getting smarter, more intelligent, and more connected. The article gives a thorough analysis of worldwide and Chinese trends in the application of color to new vehicles over the past several years, and it looks at new technological developments. From this we can see that in the future, the car body color will no longer just be static visual symbols at the aesthetic level, but rather will become a smart and alive "interface" with intelligent environmental sensing, energy management, and emotional interaction functions. Article gives designers and researchers full and complete industry observations as well as theoretical knowledge.
